Jacksonville is a short drive from our studio in St. Johns County, and its backyards are wonderfully varied: mature, shaded lots in established neighborhoods, newer homes across the Southside, and compact coastal lots at Jacksonville, Neptune and Atlantic Beach.
Each asks something different of a design. We start with how you want to use the space, then work with what the lot gives us.

What designing here involves
Live oaks and shade
Mature oaks shade much of the city. They are beautiful, but they drop leaves and spread wide roots, so pool placement, filtration and decking are planned around them.
Compact coastal lots
At the Beaches, space is precious. Plunge pools, spools, vertical planting and multi-use structures make a small backyard feel generous.
Wind and salt
Near the ocean, materials and fixtures need to handle salt air and stronger wind. We specify accordingly.
Flood zones
Parts of the Beaches and the riverfront sit in FEMA flood zones, which can affect elevations and what can be built. We design with your survey in hand.
